Die Lernenden k\u00f6nnen meist zeit- und ortsunabh\u00e4ngig in ihrem eigenen Tempo lernen und erlangen Informationen, die ihnen vielleicht sonst vor Ort nicht zug\u00e4nglich w\u00e4ren. Aber solch ein selbstbestimmtes Lernen erfordert auch Disziplin und Motivation, wenn man sich erfolgreich digital weiterbilden m\u00f6chte.<\/p>\n<p>Mittlerweile gibt es zahlreiche Formen von digitalen Lernangeboten. Aber was ist was? Darunter f\u00e4llt ziemlich viel: YouTube Videos, Wikipedia Seiten, Virtuelle Vorlesungen, videobasierte Onlinekurse oder virtuelle Klassenzimmer. Manchmal ist einem gar nicht mehr bewusst, dass man gerade online lernt. Auch jedes googeln nach Wissen k\u00f6nnte man darunter verstehen. E-Learning ist also ein Oberbegriff f\u00fcr viele Arten des Lernens bei denen digitale Medien ein integraler Bestandteil sind. So sind Webinare, Online-Fortbildungen und MOOCs alle eine Form des eLearnings.<\/p>\n<p>Zeitweise dachten Wissenschaftler*innen, dass das digital unterst\u00fctze Lernen traditionelle Bildungsformen abl\u00f6sen w\u00fcrde. In ihrer L\u00e4nge orientieren sich MOOCs meist an Seminaren, wie man sie von Hochschulen kennt. Innerhalb von mehreren Wochen oder Monaten widmen sich die Teilnehmenden einem Kursthema. Die meisten MOOCs beginnen dabei zu einem festgelegten Zeitpunkt und enden auch mit einer gemeinsamen Abschlusspr\u00fcfung. In vielen MOOC-Konzepten sind auch \u00dcbungen und Hausaufgaben zu erledigen.<\/p>\n<p>MOOCs versprechen Bildung auf Universit\u00e4tsniveau. Programmieren, eine fremde Sprache oder diverse Studienf\u00e4cher &#8211; mittlerweile gibt es mehrere tausend MOOCs.
