Was hat euch pers\u00f6nlich dazu bewegt, Upgrade Demokratie lernen zu schreiben? Gab es einen Moment, in dem euch klar wurde, wie dringend das ist?<br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>Nikola Poitzmann:<\/strong> F\u00fcr mich war es kein einzelner Moment, sondern viele kleine Beobachtungen, die sich verdichtet haben. Gespr\u00e4che mit Sch\u00fcler:innen, die sich nicht geh\u00f6rt f\u00fchlen. Lehrkr\u00e4fte, die sich zwischen Stoffdruck und Haltung aufreiben. Und gesellschaftliche Entwicklungen, die zeigen, wie fragil \u2013 und aktuell auch gef\u00e4hrdet \u2013 demokratische Prozesse sind.<br \/>\nWir erleben eine Zeit, in der Polarisierung zunimmt, in der einfache Antworten verlockend wirken und in der das Vertrauen in demokratische Strukturen br\u00fcchiger wird. Genau deshalb reicht es nicht mehr, Demokratie nur zu erkl\u00e4ren \u2013 wir m\u00fcssen sie erlebbar machen.<br \/>\nIrgendwann wurde klar: Demokratie ist nichts, das \u201esp\u00e4ter\u201c gelernt wird. Sie entsteht im Alltag. In Beziehungen. In der Art, wie wir miteinander sprechen, entscheiden, Konflikte l\u00f6sen.<br \/>\nDas Buch ist aus dem Wunsch entstanden, genau das sichtbar zu machen: Dass Demokratiebildung kein Zusatz ist, sondern der Kern von Bildung. Und dass Schule ein Ort sein kann, an dem junge Menschen erleben: Meine Stimme z\u00e4hlt.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kati Ahl:<\/strong> Ein Ausl\u00f6ser war f\u00fcr uns die Erfahrung, dass Demokratie in Schule oft thematisiert wird, aber zu selten wirklich erlebt werden kann. Oft bleibt es bei der Scheinbeteiligung. In meinem Podcast \u201cSchule, lass mal reden\u201d habe ich allerdings selbst erfahren, wie schwierig echte Beteiligung sein kann. Es wollten anfangs kaum Kinder und Jugendliche mitsprechen.<\/p>\n<p>Gleichzeitig haben wir beobachtet, wie sehr sich gesellschaftliche Spannungen auch im Klassenraum zeigen: durch Polarisierung, Unsicherheit oder auch R\u00fcckzug. Uns wurde klar: Demokratiebildung ist kein Zusatz, sondern eine Frage der Haltung und der t\u00e4glichen Praxis.<br \/>\nWir wollten ein Buch schreiben, das Lehrkr\u00e4fte darin unterst\u00fctzt, genau diese Erfahrungen im Alltag zu erm\u00f6glichen \u2013 damit Schule ein Ort wird, an dem Beteiligung nicht nur besprochen, sondern wirklich gelebt wird. Dabei k\u00f6nnen die vielen Praxisbeispiele und Interviews im Buch helfen!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ihr verbindet Demokratiebildung mit den 4K-Kompetenzen. Warum passt das aus eurer Sicht so gut zusammen und was fehlt im Unterricht, wenn diese Verbindung nicht gelingt?<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> Nikola Poitzmann:<\/strong> Die 4K \u2013 Kommunikation, Kollaboration, Kreativit\u00e4t und kritisches Denken \u2013 sind im Grunde die Werkzeuge, die Demokratie erst m\u00f6glich machen.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ohne Kommunikation gibt es kein Zuh\u00f6ren.<\/li>\n<li>Ohne Kollaboration kein gemeinsames Aushandeln.<\/li>\n<li>Ohne kritisches Denken keine fundierten Entscheidungen.<\/li>\n<li>Und ohne Kreativit\u00e4t keine Vorstellung davon, wie Zukunft anders gestaltet werden kann.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Gleichzeitig braucht Demokratie mehr als diese vier Kompetenzen:<br \/>\nSie braucht emotionale Intelligenz, also die F\u00e4higkeit, eigene Gef\u00fchle wahrzunehmen und die Perspektiven anderer zu verstehen.<br \/>\nUnd sie braucht Krisenkompetenz \u2013 die F\u00e4higkeit, mit Unsicherheit, Ambivalenz und Spannungen umzugehen, ohne vorschnell nach einfachen Antworten zu greifen.<br \/>\nGerade hier zeigt sich die Verbindung zu den Future Skills, wie sie beispielsweise von Pechstein und Schwemmle (2023) beschrieben werden: Es geht um Selbstwirksamkeit, Reflexionsf\u00e4higkeit und die Kompetenz, in komplexen, offenen Situationen handlungsf\u00e4hig zu bleiben.<br \/>\nWenn diese Verbindung fehlt, bleibt Demokratie oft abstrakt. Dann sprechen wir \u00fcber Demokratie, aber wir leben sie nicht.<\/p>\n<p>Was fehlt, ist die Erfahrung:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>dass ich Teil eines Prozesses bin.<\/li>\n<li>dass ich etwas bewirken kann.<\/li>\n<li>dass Unterschiedlichkeit kein Problem ist, sondern ein Potenzial.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div><div  class='flex_column av-4ovqwb8-59670b336e9ba22efec2334e5b316c46 av_one_full  avia-builder-el-14  el_after_av_one_full  avia-builder-el-last  first flex_column_div  column-top-margin'     ><section  class='av_textblock_section av-frrtsk-bd4852e238ce2fb45b0b1db011ffcb8b '   itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/BlogPosting\" itemprop=\"blogPost\" ><div class='avia_textblock'  itemprop=\"text\" ><p><strong>Beim Schreiben eures Buches: Was hat euch am meisten herausgefordert? Ging es eher darum, die Theorie greifbar zu machen oder konkrete Praxisideen zu entwickeln?<br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>Nikola Poitzmann:<\/strong> Die gr\u00f6\u00dfte Herausforderung war tats\u00e4chlich, beides zusammenzubringen. Es gibt viele kluge theoretische Ans\u00e4tze, aber sie bleiben oft zu weit weg vom Schulalltag. Gleichzeitig gibt es gro\u00dfartige Praxis, die jedoch selten eingeordnet oder systematisch beschrieben wird.<br \/>\nUnser Anspruch war: eine Br\u00fccke zu bauen. Also Theorie so zu verdichten, dass sie Orientierung gibt und gleichzeitig Praxis so konkret zu machen, dass man am n\u00e4chsten Tag damit arbeiten kann.<br \/>\nUnd vielleicht war genau das die eigentliche Herausforderung: die Komplexit\u00e4t nicht zu verlieren und sie trotzdem zug\u00e4nglich zu machen.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wenn ihr heute auf Schulen blickt: Wo wird Demokratie im Alltag bereits wirklich gelebt und wo bleibt sie noch zu oft Theorie?<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> Nikola Poitzmann:<\/strong> Demokratie wird \u00fcberall dort lebendig, wo Beziehungen im Mittelpunkt stehen \u2013 und wo die drei zentralen Dimensionen unseres Buches tats\u00e4chlich gelebt werden: Zuh\u00f6ren, Teilhaben, Aushandeln.<\/p>\n<p>Zum Beispiel:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>im Morgenkreis, wenn Sch\u00fcler:innen wirklich geh\u00f6rt werden \u2013 Zuh\u00f6ren<\/li>\n<li>in Klassenr\u00e4ten, die ernst genommen werden \u2013 Aushandeln<\/li>\n<li>in Projekten, in denen Sch\u00fcler:innen mitentscheiden d\u00fcrfen \u2013 Teilhaben<\/li>\n<li>in Schulen, die Fehler als Lernr\u00e4ume verstehen und Entwicklung gemeinsam gestalten. Dort entsteht etwas Echtes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Theoretisch bleibt Demokratie oft da, wo sie auf einzelne Stunden reduziert wird.<br \/>\nOder wo Beteiligung zwar angeboten wird, aber die Entscheidungen am Ende doch schon feststehen. Sch\u00fcler:innen merken das sehr genau.<br \/>\nDemokratie ist nicht das, was wir sagen. Ein guter Einstieg ist deshalb nicht, \u201enoch etwas dazuzunehmen\u201c, sondern genauer hinzuschauen: Wo passiert Beteiligung bereits und wo vielleicht nur scheinbar?<\/p>\n<p>Viele Lernende erleben, dass Beteiligung im Unterricht zwar stattfindet, aber oft mit echter Partizipation verwechselt wird. Sch\u00fcler:innen d\u00fcrfen ihre Meinung sagen, aber nicht wirklich mitgestalten, so hat es aktuell das Schulbarometer der Robert-Bosch-Stiftung wieder gezeigt. Genau hier setzt demokratisches Lernen an: bei der Frage nach Agency \u2013 also der Erfahrung, wirksam zu sein.<br \/>\nEin hilfreicher erster Schritt ist, Beziehungslernen ernst zu nehmen. Das Schulbarometer zeigt immer wieder: F\u00fcr Kinder und Jugendliche sind Beziehung, Sicherheit und Geh\u00f6rtwerden zentrale Voraussetzungen f\u00fcr Lernen. Wenn diese Dimension gest\u00e4rkt wird, entsteht automatisch mehr Raum f\u00fcr Beteiligung.<br \/>\nGleichzeitig lohnt sich ein Blick auf die Rechte von Kindern und Jugendlichen: Demnach ist Demokratiebildung ist kein Zusatz, sondern Teil ihres Anspruchs auf Beteiligung \u2013 verankert in Kinderrechten und im Schulrecht.<br \/>\nUnser Rat w\u00e4re deshalb: klein beginnen, aber bewusst: eine Entscheidung \u00f6ffnen, eine R\u00fcckmeldung ernst nehmen, einen Prozess transparent machen und sich immer wieder die Frage stellen, die schon eine Braunschweiger Grundschule in unserem Buch stellt: An welcher Stelle k\u00f6nnten die Kinder mitbestimmen oder sogar allein entscheiden?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Diskussionen im Klassenraum k\u00f6nnen schnell emotional werden. Wie k\u00f6nnen Lehrkr\u00e4fte solche Situationen gut begleiten, ohne dass Gespr\u00e4che aus dem Ruder laufen?<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> Kati Ahl:<\/strong> Dass Gespr\u00e4che emotional werden, ist zun\u00e4chst nicht unbedingt ein Problem, sondern ein wichtiges Signal. Es zeigt, dass diese Themen ber\u00fchren. Schwieriger wird es eher dort, wo nichts mehr gesagt wird, wo R\u00fcckzug, Abgetrenntheit oder Gleichg\u00fcltigkeit entstehen. Das sind oft die eigentlichen Warnsignale. Extremismus h\u00e4ngt auch mit Einsamkeit zusammen.<br \/>\nDer Klassenraum kann ein Resonanz- und Schutzraum sein: ein Ort, an dem unterschiedliche Perspektiven ausgesprochen werden d\u00fcrfen, ohne dass Menschen pers\u00f6nlich verletzt oder ausgeschlossen werden.<\/p>\n<p>Daf\u00fcr braucht es klare Vereinbarungen. Formate wie der \u201eRespektraum\u201c helfen, gemeinsam Regeln zu entwickeln und einzu\u00fcben:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Wir h\u00f6ren zu, es geht nicht nur ums Sprechen und Antworten.<\/li>\n<li>Wir sprechen aus der Ich-Perspektive.<\/li>\n<li>Wir argumentieren gegen Positionen \u2013 nicht gegen Personen.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Dabei hilft der Perspektivwechsel, dass es weniger darum geht zu gewinnen, sondern vor allem darum zu verstehen und gemeinsamen Grund zu finden.<br \/>\nLehrkr\u00e4fte begleiten diese Prozesse, indem sie zwei Ebenen im Blick behalten:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>die Sachebene: Positionen d\u00fcrfen klar und auch widerspr\u00fcchlich sein<\/li>\n<li>die Beziehungsebene: alle bleiben Teil der Gruppe<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Gerade bei kontroversen oder problematischen Aussagen ist es wichtig, diese ernst zu nehmen, ohne sie stehen zu lassen. Kinder und Jugendliche probieren oft Positionen aus, die sie aus ihrem Umfeld kennen.<br \/>\nDas bedeutet klar in der Sache sein und gleichzeitig in Beziehung bleiben. Das lohnt sich, denn wie Prof. Anja Besand einmal sagte: \u201cLehrkr\u00e4fte sind Early Responders. Die sind immer an der \u201cUnfallstelle\u201d der gesellschaftlichen Krisen &#8211; und zwar sofort.
